57000 fellow runners made the run from the Town Moor to South Shields today, in stunning sunshine, with wall to wall cheering, and a million miles of smiles.

Come the revolution when Yorkshire permanently stages the Tour de France, The Olympics and Wimbledon, I think Tyne and Wear can keep the GNR cos the Geordie hordes every year make this an amazingly joyous, celebratory and worthwhile event.
