Proms in the Peaks

Managed to take Ziggy short walk - beautiful day. Then Rebekah & I set off to celebrate Faye's birthday at 'Proms in the Peaks' in aid of the fab Weston Park Hospital. One of only four specialist cancer hospitals in the country. (I remember so clearly visiting my mum there and applying hand cream to her hands. Also taking a friend with breast cancer there late in the night) Rebekah enjoyed saying hello to the three friendly, little pigs, who squeaked in delight at her from their copse, close to where we parked. Losehill YHA provided a wonderful setting. Lots of people having posh picnics by the time we arrived. We were surprised to find we were part of a handful of VIPs, sitting in comfy chairs and being offered free drinks! Strong sunshine - almost forgot about work tomorrow - felt as if the summer holidays had resumed. We felt very grand sitting on the terrace listening to the lovely music. I particularly enjoyed, 'In the Mood' and some songs from 'Les Miserables.' Although of course it was great fun waving our flags to Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope & Glory. Such fun!
Drove home. Someone parked across part of my drive (again!) so slewed across the road to unload and then the car wouldn't start (again!) An assortment of nice neighbours and kids pushed the car to Lydgate Lane where Andy bump started it. I hopped in and drove it to the garage, where I had already booked it in for tomorrow. So Ziggy enjoyed another walk.
