A time for everything

Grasses in the snow

A beautiful day today. Went out swimming late morning, stopping on the way for a short photo walk around Pioneer Park. Everything looked so glorious against the blue sky and sunshine. In the evening we were out at a Chinese New Year dinner at church with the "Inbetweeners" - that is, in between the Family ministry and the group for retired folks. This group's been going about nine months at a guess, but they've had an uncanny knack for planning events when we can't make it! The food was provided by a small Chinese restaurant fairly near the church that our senior pastor and his wife frequent quite regularly, and have become quite good friends with the Chinese owner, who is a Christian. In fact, after the dinner, he spoke about his background and upbringing, and even played a few Christian songs on some Chinese instrument. Afterwards we headed back home to watch the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics which we had recorded on our DVR. Such a tragedy about the young luger who was killed - my heart goes out to his family, friends and team-mates.
