Engineering through natural selection.

The more I think about the evolution of life the more amazed I become, not incredulous but amazed. Take some inanimate molecules, stir and wait for many millions of years and wonderful things happen. Spiders spinning silk webs. Birds with keratinous scales crafted into complex feathers that can propel them through the air. Big apes with the brains to design machines that can make electronic images of the silk and the feathers and then distribute them around the world at the touch of a button.
It's such a pity that the same apes produce horrendous weapons and enjoy using them to kill each other.
