Rent
We bought our house with a few sculptures in the garden. They are unusual and interesting, to say the least. They bring me a lot of joy. So imagine my surprise when today on my doorstep appeared the artist who created one of them.
His name is Richard Tipping and he gifted the Rent headstone to the previous owners of our house. As they moved into a small townhouse in the city, they left quite a few things behind. Richard has been visiting Adelaide and decided to look up his piece of work from over 30 years ago and convince me to part with it. Which I gladly did. I am sure it will bring him more happiness than me. I told him I'd love a headstone which says 'mortgage'. I might even commission it once my mortgage is paid off.
How unexpected and bizarre was that! I will now have to go and see and blip some pieces of his art in Adelaide. And if you fancy a small piece of Richard's art, MOMA sells three Art Poem Road Signs.
