The predator strikes

For all my precautions, Jacare has managed to kill a bird. I am sad about this waste of life, especially given how many birds domestic cats kill! but I'm also a bit surprised. Perhaps it's a Darwin Award, because the cat was on a leash that restricted his movements to about 150sf, and he's been out in that space most of the summer. So it goes.. Hopefully there is no next time.
