no idea what this is

The blipping weather forecast for the afternoon didn't sound too good first thing, so instead of wallowing in my pit until it was time for The Sunday Morning Phone Call to Mother, I went for a blipping walk. Of course I took shots of Bridges in the Mist, but am resisting posting them. Instead I?ve gone for a growth (I think) on a tree that looks horrible. I didn't want to get too close in case it was a triffid.

I discovered that my camera doesn't have a 'carpet of snowdrops' setting. I did see an ermine, but it shot across through the woods and path so quickly and up the bank before I could get my camera out of my pocket. It then turned and peered at me before disappearing completely. I did manage to get a blip of a pheasant looking mean and moody in the undergrowth, and of the oil terminal in the mist. But decided that horrible growth was today's blip.
