The Cage from Lantern Wood

An enjoyable walk at National trust Lyme Park with my friend Tom.

We sent off under grey skies with an extra layer to keep out the cold but the clouds soon cleared and warmed us up as we walked the moorland side of the walled woods and gardens (about 4 miles). At the top of this climb is a wood and in the centre is a folly the Lantern

Half way round we passed this gate used in the Mass trespass scene in the BBC series The Village.

At the end we had a late lunch at the very popular Timber Yard cafe
