Arizona rain

We broke the record for rainfall in a single day. Almost 5 inches total in my area.
Since this amount of rain is so unusual, we are totally unprepared for it- no storm drains, insufficient swale construction, and no one knows how to drive in rain! :)
I was stuck in my car for about an hour at work just watching the deluge and the amazing lightning. The photo was taken around 6am.
The power went out in my office building at one point so the car was a better option anyway- and I had a cup of coffee with me so how can I complain? :)
I have to admit I'm dreading going home to see what happened to our yard and pool.
