Honey Bee

Lovely to see the honey bees return to the garden after the cold of winter. This one seems to be a little sticky, I think from the whitefly.

This small light brown bee was first introduced in 1839 and can be found throughout New Zealand. It is one of the few beneficial introduced species but mind its sting it can be painful!

Today I've been in the garden measuring the beds which I hope to be downsizing, just a touch here and there will make all the difference to the amount of weeding I seem to do - well that's the plan at this stage.

Weather wise there's been plenty of sun and blue sky but the easterly wind has been swift and bitter keeping the temperature round the 12C mark - pleasant out of the wind.

Happy Tuesday everyone :)
