Shooting the moon

I've taken an awful lot of bad pictures of the moon during the course of my two years on Blip. I couldn't resist trying another one tonight - it is looking absolutely glorious, and keeping me sane as I wrestle through my current batch of spreadsheets.

As I knew I was approaching a big round number on here, I thought it seemed a good time to break out the tripod for the first time ever, and fiddle with the camera settings a bit. I still have not a clue what I'm doing, or what I'm fiddling with, but this seemed a better result than usual... Sadly some clouds floated past to spoil my fun (and send me scurrying back to the computer screen).

So here she is, again. On maximum zoom on my trusty camera, perched on its unfamiliar tripod on the window sill of my study window.
