On Site
Not a photograph of great merit but one that demonstrates that we have managed to get away in our new caravan for a few days during the half term holiday.
We had intended to go to a site near Folkestone but decided that it was too far away if I had any problems and needed to come home. The problem is that in my current condition, I am supposed to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activity. Setting up on site would usually fall into that bracket and therefore it just felt like too much of a risk. Consequently, we cancelled that booking and booked into a site about sixteen miles away on the edge of Cambridge. By doing so, we enlisted the help of my brother in law, who came to help us set up and, while I probably did more than I should, it all worked out well and were quickly reminded about the joys of caravanning.
It was especially good to get away as we had cancelled a Center Parcs holiday that we had booked for the Easter break as it was only three weeks after my surgery. Given the magnitude of the surgery, it would have been risky to travel and, having done so, I would not have been able to take part in anything and that all aside from my multiple medical appointments. Therefore, it was a great morale boost to the children to enjoy a bit of normality.
