Ayr Beach

We weren't allowed to take photographs inside the rink, but Jenni did well in her competition. After that, we visited some family in Ayr, and when the weather brightened up a little I went to the beach to grab a couple of photographs.

It's a really strange picture, in as much I focused on the flowers themselves. I had a very wide aperture, so a very shalllow depth of field. All of which is as expected - but why is that little patch in front of the flowers on the left hand side so sharply in focus? That was unexpected!

I suppose that's why Canon sells 50mm lenses at £100 and 50mm lenses around £1,000 - this was taken with the £100 model!
