Barn quilt

I was driving home, using a route that I abandoned some time ago in favor of the faster interstate. I spotted this barn quilt (one of two on adjoining farms) and stopped to look around. The farmer came to greet me and happily gave permission for photos. It seems this man lost his quilter wife to cancer some time ago. He commissioned a local painter to reproduce two of her quilt blocks. This was my favorite.
