Rubbing back the lime render

Sean is doing a beautiful job rendering my cottage, now the scratch coat has dried out fully. It has Bideford grit in it, which gives it a wonderful shelly texture. I will lime wash it, probably salmon pink or 'mink', to give a bit of contrast on the quoins on the gable end where the render meets the front wall. That will be pointed up next week, with a little of the Bideford grit. It is such a shame this material will no longer be available for future restorations as dredging for it has become uneconomic.
