Black Combe from Roanhead, with kite
Wainwright waxes lyrical about Black Combe in "The Outlying Fells of Lakeland" (the unashamedly senior citizen-oriented volume in his Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells). Fastaperture and I have yet to don our carpet slippers (Wainwright p 163) and attempt it, though in my present limping condition it may be the only fell I should, sensibly, tackle! Looks tempting, and the views from the summit are supposed to be excellent.
