The Squirrel

Back to normal today. The holiday is over. I haven't blipped the Squirrel before and I think you will agree that it deserves a mention just for the hanging baskets. A well run, family pub with a lovely couple running things. Dave and Kath originate from Birmingham, but have had the Squirrel for about 20 years now.

When I worked on the buses, we were due to hold a darts match against the Squirrel and the night fitters were charged with writing out a poster to get a team together. There were about ten of them working that night and not one of them could begin to imagine how to spell the word "squirrel". So they took a bus out of the depot and drove up to Chells Way and parked in the bus stop opposite so that one of them could copy it down from the sign.
