Union Station
Kansas City's Union Station was just one of a number of substantial structures visited today. I chose this shot to blip, mostly for the eye-catching contrast of the woman's blue skirt.
We also spent a couple of hours at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where my favourite exhibit was "Museum Guard" by Duane Hanson, a closer shot of which is here.
Kansas City is also said to have the second-highest number of fountains of any City, after Rome. One fine example is the J. C. Nichols Memorial Fountain. It also has a very strange shopping "centre" at Country Club Plaza, which looks new but dates from the 1920s and accommodates, around several proper outdoor streets, upmarket shops, restaurants etc in a Mediterranean style.
