Chesters Roman Fort

This is actually part of the bath house at Chesters, one of the forts along Hadrian's Wall. It is the undressing room. The bath house seems much more elaborate than even the luxury spas of today, with cold rooms, hot rooms, very hot rooms, hot and cold baths, underfloor heating, heated ceiling. It seems the Romans looked after their soldiers rather well.
