The Stones of Scotland monument, Regent Park.
With the Scottish Parliament in the background. The monument was built from 200o-2002 to mark the spirit of Scotland's then new Parliament. It features a circle of 32 stones - one from each of Scotland's local authorities.
I stopped off there this morning for a bit of a wander.
"So I have gathered unto myself,
All the loose ends of Scotland,
And by naming them and accepting them,
Loving them and identifying myself with them,
Attempt to express the whole."
Hugh MacDiarmid
