Mountain Biking
So yesterday the party was awesome - really awesome. It included going into town to a club/bar also and it was all-round an awesome time. It also included alot of drinking...
So my phone rings at 10:30am this morning and it's Dave. I'd asked him the day before if he wanted to go mountain biking today and I was determined to go, even though I'd only been asleep/passed-out for approximately 6 hours and I was still drunk.
So I'm hiring my bike out at the shop and adjusting the saddle was hard because I had lost all balance. The uphill was punishing and when we got to the top I felt like if I stopped for a rest I would die. I'd already stopped earlier when the hangover-sweats kicked-in.
But then we stopped to open a gate and the desire to collapse was overwhelming. So I did. Flat on my back for a solid 10 minutes waiting for that quite unique sensation, that is called hangover mixed with intense exercise, to pass. It was not pretty! I can't really describe the feeling but I'm sure most of you have experienced it before.
After about 20 minutes we were good to go and it was all downhill from there. No crashes uniquely. This picture shows Dave negotiating some very deep water. Dave said the best way is straight through it, so I asked him to demonstrate what he meant and I'd be right behind him.
I like this picture because it catches him just after he hit a rock and it sent him off to the side - he nearly fell off but didn't. Very funny!
