Railway restoration racing ahead

The restoration of the Waverly line (Borders Railway, Edinburgh to Tweedbank, Galasheils) is racing ahead. This is looking south from the road bridge near us in Eskbank. I was sad to lose the walkway/cycleway that had been established on the old railway, as it was a fantastic local amenity right on our doorstep. However we can pick that up less than a half mile down the road where it still uses part of the old rail line to Peebles as the Penicuik to Eskbank walkway/cycleway. So - I have got over it, and look forward to the line opening in 2015. I am worried by the eagerness with which builders are grabbing all the little pockets of land around Dalkeith for development - we're moving from rural to suburban at an increasing pace. Who is this for??
