House stuff

Today we exchanged contracts on the house we will buy next week. For those of you who may not know the english system of house buying, it is not until this stage that you are sure your purchase will go through. Until the exhange of contracts either party can renege on the deal.

This is the end of an extensive process that has had us seeing dozens of houses, being disappointed in being pipped at the post, almost buying one which fell through after 14 weeks of the process and now......finally......getting a lovely house in Bourton on the Water. The excitement for us is that this will also be where we will run our new business, so much has been riding on the purchase.

We won't leave the flat here in Cheltenham till the end of October, partly due to notice-giving and also to allow us to do quite a bit of decorating in the property. This also means we will get two thirds of our possessions out of storage where they have been for a year and we will have to ask ourselves.....if we have managed without them for a year... do we really need them?!!!
