Trumpet Lily

Today the Concerned Older Women (COWs who I drive the bus for in Glebe) held the launch of their book detailing their achievements and activities since they formed a number of years ago. Jamie Parker (the local State Member), Robyn Kemmis (the deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney) and Verity Firth (the previous State Member) all participated in the event. It was a special time.

The photographer for the occasion, and also the photographer for the images in the book, was Tom Psomototragos. Apart from being an event and wedding photographer of some renown, Tom has a passion for capturing images that define the local area. I chatted with Tom for a long while and was enthralled by the way he approached his craft. This is a LINK to his Homeless Series - well worth a look.

On my way home from such a stimulating time with Tom, rather that feeling excited, I felt rather despairing at my skill level. Responses can be interesting! Having said that I grabbed this image along the street.
