'G'day mate'
We spent the morning with Nikki's friend Jasmine today, and their son Rayan. We're trying to encourage the wee man to mix with other children whenever we can as he doesn't often get the chance. Unfortunately he was a little tired by the time we arrived, so wasn't quite his usual chirpy self. It's still great to see him play with other kids though.
On the development side, the wee man has been enjoying reciting sequences recently - numbers, letters, shapes, colours, days of the week. Next up, months of the year. He's also singing full songs with and without encouragement. He uses synonyms to describe things and makes simple jokes to provoke reactions. For example, today alerted us to an elephant in the tunnel!
I'm not quite sure about his accent though. He takes bits and pieces from his dad (Northern sounding 'up', 'duck' and 'stuck') as well as Aussie 'four' and 'mate'. Mix that with Scottish and California and we're going to have one mongrel of an accent.
