Helicopter Survival [255/365]

Not even the exploded manhole cover this morning could stop the me getting to survivex today.

The day started off with an 8am dunking into a freezing swimming pool, repeated 5 more times. Each time progressively harder with the introduction of a rebreather, windows and the helicopter rotating.

With this completed we donned our Fireman Sam helmets and started our firefighting training. This involved putting out numerous fires with various types of extinguishers. Towards the end of the day, I learnt a new dance which was used in the evacuation of a smoke filled room.

With the recent helicopter crash in the North Sea there have been numerous changes to the respiratory equipment and as a result I got trained in the new EBS equipment.

And that is me done, all ready and certified to work offshore now.
