Cragside

Spent a whole day at the fantastic and fascinating Cragside near Rothbury in Northumberland.
The house was built between 1870 and 1885 by entrepreneurial engineer William Armstrong. It was the first house in the world to be lit using hydroelectric power, having its own power generating plant.
The house, gardens and estate are amazing. The pioneering engineering is still in place and remains impressive to this day.
