It's not all such fun

I'm posting this photograph as an antidote to those (and they know who they are!) who think that academics are dull humourless, and indeed colourless, individuals.

We had welcome drinks for a new cohort of Fellows today, and the weather played ball for a while, with lovely sunshine coming over the fence into our square for the first hour or so, until it disappeared behind the building. But now the haar has closed in again, with a vengeance, and I can barely see the building opposite us as I post this.
