The Kitchen Floor Debacle

We hated our kitchen floor (we put reclaimed boards down when we moved in but the varnish used to treat them turned them a horrible colour) so we have spent the last few weeks getting them sanded and painted. Problem is the colour we picked (meant to be slate grey) looks blue. And we don't like that either. So now we're having to start all over again.

This is the sort of thing that would have sent the old me (of a few weeks ago) into a right grump. But the new me is just shrugging it off. Angus thinks I've had a personality transplant.

Audrey didn't cry when I dropped her at nursery this morning again. All hail the new room, it's worked wonders for her! But she was absolutely shattered when I picked her up - Mum thinks she must play a lot harder in there and I think she's right.

I had a day of work, pre-holiday grooming and a new business meeting with a really exciting entrepreneur. He was so fired up and passionate it was infectious. It's very early stages for him and he's looking for funding but if it takes off, I would love to work on his PR. Could be transatlantic travel involved and the thought of leaving Audrey for a long haul flight is terrifying but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!
