Nuthatch
I am really pleased with this blip. Not because it is a good picture (which it certainly is not!) but because of what it represents.
I like to see birds but I know very little about them. I can probably only name about 8 garden birds. As I was sitting in my new garden swing I heard a birdcall that I didn't recognise. I followed the sound until I found him and then took a few shots - quite a way away and without tripod. I then came indoors and went on the RSPB website to identify him. What type of beak, what colour legs, what size? I had to keep referring back to the picture for these details. Eventually I came up with the Nuthatch which is what I am REALLY hoping he is. I have never seen one before but I do hope to see him again.
I now have a nugget of information in my brain which will hopefully stay there!
