Light at the End of the Tunnel

A visit to Portland today, in Dorset.
I went to the Verne prison, it is possibly the last time it will be open to the public, but it turned out to be a fairly limited part that was open to the public, which was a little disappointing
I then went to visit the "High Battery" part of the fortification of Portland which took place way back in Victorian times, when there was a a battery of massive guns were installed to prevent any enemy invasion. However the guns were never fired in anger, and now only the buildings remain and this is a photograph through one of the tunnels where the 9 inch shells would have been wheeled out to the guns.
