Grist Mill

Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice because the flow that has passed will never flow again.*

Sonoma Creek no longer flows through this mill, but it still stands in Glen Ellen, home of the writer, Jack London. He is said to have had an office in the building behind, with a view down onto the mill wheel. He lived just down the road, where he built the Wolf House, which burned to the ground before he and his wife, Charmian could move in. The ruins are now part of the Jack London State Park.

*I don't know to whom I should attribute this quote. It was forwarded to me by OilMan as part of a longer story, but it seemed an appropriate follow-up to so many moving 9/11 memories voiced on Blipfoto yesterday. Our memories, even the painful ones, are an important and valuable part of history, and should never be lost or forgotten.
