First hand - second hand

This small shop is one of several in the Newton area of Stornoway, which sells (as the sign proclaims) first hand and second hand stuff. And that word "stuff" can be taken as broadly as you wish. A few years ago, a 1950s car was sitting in the doorway, waiting for a new owner.

The shop is located in a building, belonging to a now defunct Harris Tweed mill. At one time, Stornoway had eleven Harris Tweed mill. Over the past 12 months, there were none; just today, one was started up again with a minimal output. Don't ask.
