Ripe Tomato

Nothing better than a ripe tomato fresh from the garden. This is a San Marzano, an Italian plum tomato, thus the unusual shape. It is my first ripe one this year, but I knew they would be late as I planted them very late. I think perhaps I'll use it in gazpacho, a cold tomato soup.
