Beach near Punakaiki

This pic is strictly from last night but its a lovely shot of the beach just down the road from Punakaiki. We walked down in the hope of seeing some little blue penguins which we didn't manage to see the beach was fab at sunset.

During the day today we went to the blowholes at Pancake Rocks at high tide. The sea was too calm for a big blow hole but we saw a little one and also saw loads of dolphins feeding just off shore.

We drove to Greymouth which is the biggest town in this region of NZ. Nice place with a real middle of nowhere feel. Had a lovely seafood chowder at a local cafe then camped up overnight at a free camping site just over the bridge from town.
