So apparently the iPod Classic has died a quiet death. I still love mine. I thought they were a miracle when they first appeared and still feel the same fondness for them.

I couldn't quite believe the physical beauty of these slim white machines when I unpacked my first one (inscribed with 'poetry happens' on the back), and suddenly I could carry even the most obscure corners of my music collection around with me. Streaming doesn't really feel the same.
