Koopa's alive and well...and living in Masdar City

On the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, near the airport, is the futuristic Masdar City. A relatively small collection of super-sustainable buildings: a smattering of restaurants, shops cafes, apartments, offices and research facilities with a carbon footprint the size of a 1 dirham coin.

It's not really a full city - not yet anyway (it's only got 1 restaurant and less than 1,000 residents), but one day, when all the oil has been drained from Arabia, and the Nissan Partols are abandoned by the side of the Dubai highway, the residents of Masdar will be quids in!
