Not quite finished

This pool has been 9 years in its construction. Why? Well our friends John and Angie, who live over in Hondon, were originally building the pool to be shared between themselves and their neighbour. Then the neighbour sold up and moved back to the UK. So the pool was filled in. John then re-dug it out in their garden, only for it to collapse due to heavy rain, it was re-dug again

It was going to be bigger than this, but common sense prevailed, considering he is 76, the same age as Roy and he has done it with only the help of his wife, we think he deserves a medal. During the 9 years he has had a minor heart attack and he has a few other health issues. He had promised his two grandsons, who are age 4 and 6, and who live in Sweden, that the pool would be ready for their visit this weekend, and it is.

It is not finished, as he is going to build a 'summer kitchen' and he has to complete the surrounds. He and Angie spent two weeks in the hottest time of the year tiling and grouting. Last Friday they had 70,000 litres of water delivered at a cost of 65 euros per 10,000 litres.

We now hope he is able to enjoy the fruits of his labours.
