Send off

The new owners of our dear old Convent move in on Wednesday. Today we had our final 'event' at the house - a memorial celebration for our pal Paul who died a short while ago. His lovely wife, Sal, did a great job organising everything and we were honoured that she chose to hold it at our house.

Now we have to say goodbye to Le Couvent. It was our first house together, our first house in France, a happy, welcoming house to guests from all over the world, a house where we made wine, cakes, music, friends, gardens, websites, curtains, jam, fools of ourselves, ice-cream. It was a house full of love.

We're passing it on to people who'll take it into its next phase with all the same desires. We know the house will look after them as it did us.
