In town, in August

We headed into town today. Our only planned trip in during the festival. Bus tickets in hand and off we went for what turned out to be a bit of a disappointment.

The usual donder down the royal mile didn't even get the camera risen to my eye to rattle off a photo or two. In fact, the roll up to and during the festivals this year in my opinion has been poor this year. I can't put my finger on any one reason why this is, but maybe the well oiled machine of the fringe is starting to creak under the massive commercialism that it turned into. So far this season we've not purchased a single ticket. Maybe we won't see anything this year.....
