Edinburgh Castle and Bruntsfield Links
A quiet afternoon spent wandering around cycle shops looking at a few shiny things, and buying a few things. After the first purchase, I wandered down to Bruntsfield Links to get a picture of Edinburgh Castle, view large.
In the foreground is Bruntsfield Short Golf Course, with 36 holes (yes you really do have to play the 19th hole here). It is a form of 'Pasture' Golf, but thankfully the sheep are all gone now, and all you have to avoid it hitting the ball across any of the paths that cross the areas. You can get clubs from Ye (Ye is not pronounced Ye, the Y is Olde English for Th) Olde Golf Tavern on Wrights Houses, and playing the course is free, but I suggest staying for the 37th hole ;-)
Of course in the rear rising up in to a hazy blue sky behind Glengyle Terrace is Edinburgh Castle.
