King Fisher
Was quite a rainy morning as we did our grocery shopping but it stopped in the late morning and we decided to stop at the marsh. We saw the king fisher right off but he is always so far away for the camera. This was the best capture I could manage today. He or she had just caught a fish and was up on a branch in the distance. As we headed home we were stopped because a lady was standing in the middle of the road and quite upset. She was protecting a gull that was on the road and looked like it had been clipped by a car. A man came out from the apartments nearby and wrapped it in a towel and placed it in the grass next to the road. The young gull looked like it had a broken wing. The lady said she couldn't stay and left upset. We came back with a towel and box and took it to the Toronto Wildlife Center that helps injured wildlife. I hope they can help it! At least it won't be suffering by itself. Cross your fingers that he can be helped!
