YOU MEET THE NICEST FOLKS
Today was the Albuquerque 10th Annual "Salsa Fiesta" in Old Town. It was a chance to sample some incredible varieties of salsa, from bland to "FUEGO" (I think that is literally translated, "So hot you'll REALLY wish you hadn't"!!) And...a chance to come in contact with some of the nicest people you could ever hope meet.
Kathy and I stuck around the "Picante" (which I thought meant Mild, but does NOT) and the "Caliente" (Hot, but you'll live through it) tents, sampling a little of each, trying to decide which one best deserved our vote as "Best of the best." In the end, we opted for one that was less liquid and more chunky, with tons of flavor and just enough heat to let you know you had eaten something "special". Following the "eating-Salsa" competition, comes the "dancing-Salsa" entertainment. We didn't stay long enough for that, but if it was anything like last year, it got your feet moving.
