Cows crossing

There are two main routes to Kendal from Kirkby Lonsdale, the A65 and "the back road", and each day their traffic is temporarily halted as the cows go to and from milking. The risk is a little lower on the A65 as there's only one farm and the cows go straight across the road (rather than along it) but if you're in a hurry - especially running late for a train - then the cows crossing can be a complete disaster.

Happily, this morning I was in no hurry at all so I was able to sit back in my car seat and enjoy this bucolic scene.
