First timer

A few friends had been telling me about Parkrun recently and that there was a children's 2k run on a Sunday. Emily does belong to an athletics club, but they don't do a great deal of distance running, more run/jump/throw. So Emily fancied the 2k and had a really good experience today. Parkrun is a great concept and run by volunteers, and a perfect venue for a scenic run at Tredegar House. You can turn up and get a timed run every week. Your time is recorded and published every week, so you can keep track of your PB.

Emily was the 9th female out of a field of 88 runners and 4th in her age category, with a time of 11.34. Not bad for her first run! Most of all, she loved it!
