My Friend was Shocked
at me for having this piece of Morano Glass on the kitchen windowsill, home to a washing up sponge & a few other small items like washing up gloves.
L came for a drink while she waited to be taken home. We were chatting while i made us a hot drink. She suddenly exclaimed, 'how could you'! I wondered what i'd done. L took the glass off the sill & said 'this is Morano Glass, it should be in a dry & light place'!
After i picked up my jaw off the floor, she asked me 'do you know how much this is worth? I collect this glass & look how it's being used' there was lots of laughter at this point as she couldn't believe her eyes & i was clueless to the value.
Told L i just really love the colour & wanted it to be in a place i could see it every day... She said it was one of the lovliest pieces she had seen in years.
I would not let this piece go as it was given to me by a very special lady who was like my second Mum; she died approx 7 years ago & when i see this beautiful Glass it reminds me of her smile. To me this Morano Glass piece is priceless, L tells me its worth around £50. I don't care 'cause it's not going anywhere. It is back on the kitchen sill being a humble & helpful recepticle.
For this photo opportunity i chose a dark background, maybe not such a good idea but it's the best i could do today :-)
