Closed for the Season

We went to Oceanside late in the day to escape the heat and have a nice long walk. It's hard to believe that only 12 miles away at the coast the temperature can drop 10 to 15 degrees. Makes exercise much more enjoyable! There was much less activity this weekend, compared with last weekend (Labor Day.) It was a glorious sunset that seemed to last a long time, becoming more and more beautiful and giving spectators plenty of time to grab a camera. The kind that is hard to know when to stop taking pictures. You wonder if the last one you took is as good as it will get. I really like this shot of the unmanned lifeguard station in the foreground of the sunset. A last hurrah to the pleasures of summer.
