Iconic Building
This imposing water tower was built in 1914 by the East Grinstead Gas and Water Company after a fire caused extensive damage to the nearby vicarage on 27 February 1908 where a lack of water hampered firefighting efforts.
It ceased to function in the mid-1960s when the expansion of the town required a new (larger and higher) placed tower on the northern edge of town to maintain pressure. It has in recent years been converted into a stylish home.
