Traveller

As I was completing laying the deck boards this little chap took a long journey across the deck and then proceeded to climb the back elevation of the house. Quite a physical achievement for his size.

Update after a Google search - it looks like a knot grass caterpillar and was probably looking for a spot to pupate over winter.
