Hang Solo
An early flight from the landslip today, more wind so no carrying. No paragliders either, or fellow hang gliders for some considerable time!
A quick weight shift after launch to keep level flight and I was around onto Treak. The clouds nearby assisted and I slowly climbed up becoming easier with height and proximity to the street. Cloudbase 2200' amsl, so not huge but as expected.
A cracking view - all of the Mam Tor locality laid out before me in glimmers of weak morning sun between the clouds and nobody else around. One of the best flying moments for some time.
I pushed into wind using the street towards Castleton and played in smooth thermals along the way. Circling over the castle I hadn't done in years. The cement works seemed a stretch too far so returned to the brief sanctuary of Treak.
Eventually back at base again I transitioned to Mam and explored further before landing at Windy Knoll for an early get away back to Cambridge.
Everybody now turned up, so lots of chatting delayed things but still back in time for tea with more friends in the King Bill in Heydon.
A varied and physically tiring weekend - but has seemed like a long time since Friday as a result.
Work tomorrow for a rest then :-)
